#everydaykind in action!

Colleen & I started our company with the mission to change the world with love & kindness, and well, we just won’t stop until we do. We are so passionate that kindness can change someone’s entire day that we created our #everydaykind cards! A simple card to give to someone when you perform an act of kindness. The card encourages them to then continue to chain of kindness with someone else! I, CB, was spending the weekend in Indy and with our cards hot off the press we were ready to take them for a test drive! 😉 Let me tell you just how many opportunities presented themselves. It is truly amazing when you take a minute to pay attention to all your opportunities for kindness.

We started off in the Starbucks drive-thru, obviously because we needed caffeine! We decided to pay for the car behind us! Our barista was full of smiles as we asked what the person looked like! She said it was a lady who was smiling and she was ready to pass along the card! Bam! Done! We sped away giggling with joy in our hearts.

Next we found ourselves looking for bubblegum at a gas station and inevitably got chips & candy too…and tums. Nonetheless, another opportunity presented itself. We saw this sign and each found a dollar bill buried in the depths of our purses! We put them up with the card and were excited for someone to find some gummy bears ready for their belly, because who doesn’t love gummy bears?! We didn’t wait to see the reaction here, but can only imagine it would come with complete and utter excitement!

And finally, our favorite, happened completely out of the blue at a Steak ‘n Shake. We were there for Ryan’s birthday dinner (HELLOOOOO mini garlic burgers & nutella shakes…and more tums)! Well, a table of 11 may be a challenge for any waiter or waitress, but we were blessed with the very best that night. Ty effortlessly took orders, accommodated changes, helped with the kiddos & made sure we were all happy! But beyond that, Ty had a smile that lit up the restaurant. He was SO sweet & kind hearted. We chatted about his plans to go to college and laughed as we swooned over his extra long & perfect eyelashes! He made you feel completely at home with a complete stranger. Well, it didn’t take us long to whisper to each other, “Let’s go find an ATM and write Ty a note”! We left the restaurant thanking Ty and drove straight to an ATM machine! We searched for a piece of paper in the car and when nearly defeated found the book “You Are A Badass” between the seats. CS ripped out the first page and began writing! With 5 kids in the car we pulled back into the Steak ‘n Shake and I had the honor of running back into the restaurant. I found Ty serving another large table and told him that we forgot to give him something. He said, “No you didn’t!” and I responded by saying, “Truly we did! Please read this!” The table he was waiting on started cheering as Ty told me he was going to cry. He dropped his menus and gave me the biggest hug! I was BURSTING with excitement as he repeated, “Thank you Thank you”! I ran away quick to the car excited to share the moment with CS and she did a happy dance in the driver’s seat! We left completely overcome with happiness. Though we were performing a kind act for someone else, we left feeling so much better ourselves.

It’s amazing what these acts of kindness can do! While our goal was to make others smile with acts of kindness, we found that it was us who felt the biggest impact! We know it works because we lived it. A passing smile, holding a door, giving someone a meaningful compliment. All ways that we can spread kindness to the world we live in. So we ask that you download your FREE #everydaykind cards HERE and start getting your kind on! Print them out (black & white or color) and get started! Use hashtag #everydaykind and tell us about all the amazing things you are doing! Thank you for being YOU & being kind! Spread it like butter…because butter is better on everything!

  1. I was hoping to download the cards but I don’t see how? Also wanted to look for a shirt for my granddaughter and although I clicked on some they didn’t show me sizes and pricing?
